ADEL — John Huff, 43, announced Thursday his plans to run for the Lowndes County Board of Commissioners District 2 seat soon to be vacated by Richard Lee.

- We need to treat government like a business, and in the same way that a business answers to its investors, a government should answer to its citizens.
- Also like a business, government shouldn't spend money it doesn't have, and the money it does spend should be spent wisely, to meet the our county's needs.
- Government services should be competitively bid out into the community in order to create jobs and save money.
- Political office should be a service, not a career. That's why a term limit needs to be placed on the seat of County Commissioner.
- The County Commission needs to be increased to better represent the Citizens of Lowndes County.
